Meghan's Heartbreak at the Life She Must leave Behind to Marry her Prince Charming: From the [Trunc]

Meghan Markle has finally found her Prince Charming - but it has come at a huge cost, with the American actress forced to give up on many of her passions.

Prince Harry's fiancee had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave behind her beagle Bogart after moving to the UK to start her new life, as the pet is thought to be too old to fly overseas.

The 36-year-old has also given up on her career as an actress so she can take up full royal commitments in Britain, bringing an end to her run as Rachel Zane in the hit series Suits, the show which brought her to prominence.

While set in New York, Suits was filmed in Toronto and it is believed Miss Markle was finding it hard to juggle her relationship with Harry and her demanding schedule on the show.

Kensington Palace confirmed that Miss Markle's new role would also force her to give up her charity work with the United Nations, plus her role as patron at organisations including World Vision Canada and One Young World.

“France, Germany, and Russian haven’t had a king, Kaiser, or Tsar for at least 100 years and in some instances far longer.”

Exactly. And the Brits continue to prove why they still have a monarchy. Unlike the failed monarchies of France and Russia, The British Monarchy have earned their place because they’ve entered the Modern Era skillful at adapting to the needs of the people they serve. They’ve successfully served and acted as a source of strength for the people during trying times like World War II. They know how to stay “up to date” while still being rooted in traditional and history.

Prince Harry served his nation in war for crying out loud!

Plus, recent events such as “Brexit” only strengthened the institution’s relevance to British identity rather than weaken it. The monarchy solidifies and grounds British identity, while also serving as a beacon of history and tradition to wider Europe and the world.

Add an American to the mix and their relevance only grows. Solidifies the historic bonds of friendship between the two nations. As it stands, the monarchy is politically neutral enough to keep the peace - but ceremonial enough to retain its sheen. :)

To be honest, I haven’t followed the royals too much since Diana died although I truly admire the Queen and always watch movies about her. William’s wife, whatever her name is, is so boring I didn’t even watch the wedding. I don’t know who the hell this one is but it seems like an amusing disaster-in-waiting. Who knows, I may even take up reading The National Enquirer again!

You aren't a Brit, you don't understand what that monarchy means to the UK, and you sound like someone who belongs on the cheering crowds around the guillotine, being more than happy to see many an innocent person beheaded, all due to an accident of birth.

And modern day Parliament has done such a "great" job, have they?

Thanks for that!

As I hope you noticed, I did NOT reply in kind to that highly offensive, disgusting "CONCERN TROLL" health crap, in kind!

They use the same old tired cliches when attacking women. Bore, bore, bore as Katherine Hepburn used to say.

Not only did Diana meet the guy whom the paternity rumors are about two years after Harry was born; but also, Harry greatly favors his father Charles' side of the family. Here he is next to a picture of Charles' father Philip at a similar young age:

Oh good grief!

The French disposed of their monarchy long, long, long ago!

So did the Russians and both in bloody ways; though the French did get them back for a wee bit, afterwards, but that didn't last.

Please read up on the modern (20th century onwards ) history of the British monarchy; your post is full of holes, illogical opinions, and just utter nonsense.

All male Royals have ALWAYS served in the British military; in late Victorian times onwards, it's usually been the Navy. Price William served, their father and his brother Andrew served, Phillip served during WW II.........

Harry LOVES the Obamas and Markle is also an Obamaite who is also a RABID Hillary fan who LOATHES Trump! Tell me just HOW that combo helps?

The monarchy is not innocent. Yep, i’d Be cheering ‘me on. But then, I am also an American with descendants that fought the British, others that suffered under their occupation in Ireland.

I like that it seems they will do a somewhat small affair. Maybe she is old enough to understand/know that rebellion of tradition will end up bad.

By “into the Modern Era” I refer to cusp of 19th/20th Centuries. The French monarchs and Russian tsars (give or take a few good exceptions) left devastating legacies and behaved far more grotesquely than our King George of 1776. (And one can argue the American Revolution was a blessing in disguise for British Monarchy in my opinion.)

The US Revolution was in fact far less hellish than the French or Russian revolutions precisely because England was already on a path to healthy reform.

As for their liberal politics: as long as the monarchs of today don’t cross political power boundaries (ie: taking on powers reserved for Parliament), start beheading people over religious disputes, or live polygamously. I think they are fine.

Also worth noting that while not a colonial power, Britain identifies as head of their *Commonwealth* of nations - many of which include African and Caribbean countries, of which Harry and William have close affection for and connections to. I think the people in these former colonial countries return the affection for good reason, and have great respect for the Queen.

Boring post! In your attempt to "educate" me, you've only made things worse. LOL

The American Revolution, unlike the French one and later the Russian one, was civilized in the extreme; however, it most assuredly was hardly a "blessing in disguise for the British Monarchy"! WHERE DID YOU EVER GET THAT SCREWY IDEA?

Neither Harry, nor his future wife, THANK ALMIGHTY GOD, shan't EVER have even the slightest say-so about anything!

Since you appear to be thrilled by this engagement, then enjoy it all, but please, please, PLEASE don't, for one minute, imagine that your suppositions and assumptions about it, the ensuing marriage, nor the state of the British monarchy are in any way valid; especially as far as the Royals are concerned.

As far as the African nations in the Commonwealth goes...it depends upon the nation and whom you speak with inside each nation.

Need an example? Okay, take the RSA. The Boers still HATE the Brits( but do still like Churchill very much ), the ANC members loathe them ( they hate ALL whites and those blacks and others who are against them ), and other blacks don'/t care so much for them either. Some of the South Africans of English descent? Some may still revere them.

If you don't think that Markle's old anti0Trump TWEETS and statements won't come back to haunt her and yes, Harry ( what with his love of the Obamas )too, you are mistaken!

I don't know how old you are, nor where you have ever lived, but your posts sure DO say quite a lot about you.

If it don’t work out he can always go live his real father and they can get to know each other.

As I have stated in other threads about this topic, I was unfamiliar with this Meghan person until Harry started dating her.

From what I’ve learned about her, Harry is making a big mistake. She seems to be the typical arrogant, left wing Hollywood tramp.

The fact that she is abandoning her poor elderly dog confirms my low opinion of her. The poor dog will grieve himself to death over being abandoned, but she clearly doesn’t care. I have only contempt for creatures who carelessly discard their pets like trash.

I never bought the Hewitt stories either. Poor Diana, she never got a break. Harry also resembles his dad as well as his grand dad. As a small child, he bore a resemblance to Hewitt (including the red hair) but the Brits are somewhat inbred and tend to look alike.
