Hi,
I am a longtime FReeper and just needed to talk to someone. I will not post and run, but I must say, I am just getting into bed. I had to go to the hospital because I slipped on our hardwood stairs, and my head hit the wall.
I had a headache that would not quit, no matter how much ice I put on it. I even took a half of a tramadol that I got a couple of years after I fell on the ice in our rural Canadian driveway; nothing helped.
The hospital told me that the wait would be about three hours, so I told my husband to go home and get some sleep; by this time, it was the early morning. "I'll get a taxi," I told him.
Anyway, I called a cab and the guy asked me to sit in the front. He stopped on a sidestreet and started to kiss me, tongue and all. I had no idea where I was. He unzipped his pants and made me touch, well, you know. Then (I was wearing a dress) he put his hand into my underwear and inserted his filthy fingers into me.
I made him drop me off about a half of a kilometer from where I live; don't want him to know where my 18 year-old daughter or I live.
Anyway, I called the police; spend a lot of time writing out a statement and even had to give my clothes to them (my favorite dress! LOL!)
I walked through the snow in a pair of sandals, once I saw his taillights disappear. I walked into the house sobbing; my husband asked what was wrong. I wasn't sure if I should call the police, but my husband said, wouldn't you want to call if it were our daughter?
Anyway, I feel like I want to vomit. The police told me to go to the hospital to get checked out. I could not even hug my husband, I felt so dirty. At least I brushed my teeth and had a buttload :) of mouthwash.
I just wonder if he could have given me a disease with his taxi hands.
So either my husband or a good friend of mine will bring me to the hospital to get checked out; for what, I don't know. I just feel violated and dirty. He kept looking for parking spots on side streets and I was very scared.
Has anything like this happened to any of you? Thank G*d I wasn't raped, but I was afraid of that.

Oh, wait a minute, I don't mean that, it was just the first thing that popped into my head.

Hmm. There is something very weird going on here. I’m beginning to feel like we’re all being played.
6:56 AM - an “LOL” post about a volcano in Bali
7:38 AM - First post about the assault. This first post encapsulated details about the assault, location, meeting with the police, and walking thru the snow. *All* these events occurred in in 42 minutes following the “LOL” post about the Bali volcano? There is a timeline problem.
Follow through - sounds like you have a solid supportive husband, which can be its own blessing.

I often have this debate with my husband. Canadians, especially "Quebecois" (as my husband is), hate guns.
But I always tell him, wouldn't you want our 18 year-old daughter to be able to protect herself? He never has an answer for that.
As I mentioned earlier, that's why in the Old West, pistols (worn in a holster under the skirt) were known as "The Great Equalizer."

That would be an explanation, although the “voice” sounds the same. I would really hate to think we’re being played on a serious subject like this.

There was a post *this* morning at 6:56 AM which was a whimsical “LOL” post about a volcano in Bali.
At 7:38 AM the first post is made about this rape. That’s 42 minutes after the LOL post. A time window during which the assault occurred, the police report was taken, and a walk thru the snow.
The timeline does not make sense.
Stay on top of the investigator. In Europe some ethnicities are not receiving equal justice under the law because the individual was a immigrant.
I can not stress it enough that you need to see a counselor. You have been injured and need to nurture yourself.
I had one freaky situation......had been shopping all morning and wanted to have a nice lunch.
I knew I was not far from the Four Seasons....so I hailed a cab to change shoes in the cab. I wanted to change from my walking shoes into a decent pair of heels to enter this storied restaurant.
I gave the cabbie the address.
Figuring I was a rube, he started in the opposite direction going downtown.....to jack up the cab fare.
I gave him what for and demanded he turn the cab around.
When I got out I gave him the fare and said....”here’s your tip.” and threw a dime at him.
I am sick of women (I am one) putting themselves at unnecessary risk and not listening to their gut.

There is some sort of time zone difference occurring here in the posting log. You go to the posters “ping”list and the time for a post shows a 6:38am. You go to the head itself and it shows at 3:38am. Now I don’t know what time is correct.
Oh, yeah, I know that kind of cabbie. They were much worse in the 70s and early 80s when they didn’t even know how to get to Grand Central Station. I loathed the ones who would drape their arms over the front seat until they were touching the knees of the passenger. They generally only did it when women were passengers.
