A man who survived last month's Las Vegas gun massacre has been killed in a hit and run while hitchhiking.
Roy McClellan, who was caught up in the mass shooting that left 58 people dead at a concert, died on State Route 160 in Pahrump, around 50 miles west of Las Vegas.
His widow, Denise McClellan, said she was struggling to understand her 52-year-old husband's fate.
She told KSNV-TV: "This isn't what I wanted for him. I don't understand why he wasn't taken at the shooting, but a month later he was taken this way.
"I hope my husband found peace and he's safe now."
She said the shooting was "really messing with his head and he was going to therapy".
The Nevada Highway Patrol has said it is trying to trace the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro with damage to its front in the wake of the incident.

Phew! I’ve heard of an appointment in Samara but this is ridiculous.
Condolences.
Suspicious yes. There have been a few outspoken survivors who have mysteriously died recently.
A couple who survived the Las Vegas shooting died in a car crash just a half mile from their California home earlier this month, two weeks after the husband jumped onto his wife to shield her from the hail of bullets raining down on them during the Oct. 1 massacre.
Dennis and Lorraine Carver died after their vehicle crashed into a metal gate outside their community in Riverside County on Oct. 16 and burst into flames, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the flames, the local fire department said. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/30/couple-that-survived-las-vegas-shooting-die-in-car-crash.html Very sad for people to survive such a tragedy and then die in another tragic event later.
See post 4, although I don’t know if these people were outspoken. It is an odd way to die, though, to crash into a metal gate.
Jezz louise.
Wow, I hadn’t heard about that. Very tragic.
Something fishy is going on. Two people, I don’t know if these are them, but they were killed after trying to get information out that there was more than one shooter that evening.
Not really suspicious.
The death rate in the US is 8.2/1,000.
Assuming MOST of those dying are elderly, if we apply only 2/1000 then if the crowd living after the concert was 20,000 people, ity is save to assume that 40 of them will die within the next year.
If there are more than forty deaths out of that crowd in the next 11 months, then its suspicious. Otherwise, its just life.
This isn’t what I wanted for him. I don’t understand why he wasn’t taken at the shooting, but a month later he was taken this way.

I hope she is just grieving but the wording in this statement really doesn’t show much ‘remorse’ - at least that is my opinion.
Something a tad more appropriate would be I was glad he survived earlier etc... Like I say maybe she is in ‘shock’ and the vultures pecked at her till she gave them ‘something’.
Back to the LV shooting, remember ‘they’ said the fuel tanks were targeted but didn’t ‘blow’, I figured at the time the ‘plan’ was to blow up the tanks and shoot the people evacuating the scene as they were gathering at the exit...no explosion, he had to go into the crowd...
That said..
I heard that one of the shootings last week involved a fire of sorts and they were picking the victims off as they exited the building.....(which makes sense if you are truly being random — ‘group em’ then mow them down)
Thanks for injecting some reason here. If we start posting every time one of those thousands dies. This will become an obituary page.
Still, a man on the East Coast allegedly killed himself and his daughter the day after being visited by the FBI (may or may not be related to Vegas).
Something like 37 vehicles responded to the fiery car crash, including the FBI and other feds (no jurisdiction over a car crash). May or may not be related to the shooting.
An attorney for the concert was questioned by the FBI and said their questions were unusual, or strange; and he died thereafter in his sleep.
All plausible.
But things to note, just in case a larger pattern develops.
The death rate for people 15-45, the most likely attendees for a concert, is closer to roughly 1/1000/year, or roughly 20 per year from a group of 20,000. There have already been a large number of reported deaths - I’ve already read around ~15 - from survivors of the shooting. And I’m sure I’ve missed some.
I understand your concern. But even with the figures you cite, we are well within the average and signicantly below one standard deviation.
When it starts gettin into the high 20s, that would be a matter of concern.
You may end up being correct. But there are so many conspiracy theories out there I am only trying to inject some context.
I think your math/thinking is off a bit. You would have to take 15 and multiple it by at least 6 (its been less than 2 months since the shooting) = 90+ to annualized 15 deaths so far since the event. I’m not suggesting a conspiracy theory - it very well could be the emotional shock from the event is causing more reckless than normal behavior (drinking, drugs, depression, etc) but it has been an unusually large number of deaths.
Pahrump .. on his way to see Art Bell, maybe?
“This isn’t what I wanted for him,” is a very bizarre statement. Did someone suggest that this WAS what she wanted for him?
However, I’m sure it was just one of those garbled things that one says under stress, the equivalent of, “Oh, this is terrible, I don’t know what to say!”
Yeah. There have been at least 6 other survivors that have died.
Do the same statistical methods apply to victims of Arkancide?
Yes but the 20,000 who were at that concert aren’t a normal grouping of the population. They are pre selected on certain parameters and then survived a very large mass shooting. I don’t know how that messes with ones psyche and subsequent behaviors but they are no longer a regular 20K of the population.
