Maybe it's the shock of it all, but can't believe no one had already posted a thread about this.
Auburn doesn’t have much of an offense but obviously Alabama doesn’t either. Saban schedules a lot of cupcakes from lower tier division to fatten up their stats. Injuries finally caught up with them.
Roger that, big time !
Conference champs and a couple at-large teams - take the ridiculous subjectivity out of it.
The Auburn front 7 is too strong for Either Georgia or Alabama. The great Georgia running game was useless against the Auburn front 7. The Alabama offense was turned into blithering idiots by the Auburn front 7. Auburn will defeat Georgia in the new Ga. dome. Georgia’s only hope is that the Auburn running game will fall apart because of injuries. And for Georgia; the crowd noise will be even instead of mostly Auburn. I am a Georgia fan having gone to school there and having lived in Athens for 10 years. I just see reality. The fact is that Auburn will win this coming Saturday even if its running game is severely diminished. For a national championship Auburn will need to rest its best running backs to get them healthy for the 2 games after it squeezes past Georgia.
One thing bothered me, however, and I have to get it off my chest:
The last play of the game (Jalen Hurts pass complete to Cam Sims for 65 yds to the Aub 3 for a 1ST down) should not count in the game stats. Hurts was clearly over the line of scrimmage before he threw the ball. The mob scene prevented a ref review. If Bama had scored on the play, there would have been an automatic review and a penalty would have been enforced. Great way to pad Hurts' passing stats which, otherwise, were miserable. What a joke.
Other than that, I haven't been this happy since 2016's election night.
I listened to some sports radio right before the game and someone was saying, “Auburn’s been playing better now, they’ll win”, they certainly did.
And one of Bama’s TDs was on an obvious push-off by the receiver on the Auburn defender.
Good take on things .. wouldn’t surprise me if AU goes all the way, assuming they’re even included in the ‘final four’ popularity contest.
Absolutely
No, it is NOT a fact. The deep South's oldest rivalry is always a hard-fought fight and nothing about football is a fact until it is past tense. "On any given Saturday ...". You know the saying. Your team and mine will play again next week and until then, nothing is certain.
War Eagle!
Refs gave Bama a LOT of calls in that game, but it didn’t help.
All too often part of the aforementioned ‘popularity contest’, apparently.
Refs never call a game correctly. A champion overcomes that.
Once Stidham found his groove with the offense, Auburn became the best team in the country, I don’t see them losing to anybody.
LOL !
.. and that kid was playin’ HS ball last year ? !
No, he transferred from Baylor. Florida wanted him too, but he chose Auburn (can’t say I blame him one bit)
Oh ok, but still, lotta poise in that one.
...where do ALL you guys get your QB's from?
Signed...
Jim Harbaugh
(you sayin' O'Korn ain't quite all that ? ;-)
