I’ll bet you Walter Cronkite had his closets full of secrets too. He turned out to be a progressive-socialist in some respects. Cronkite palled around with the Clintons back in the 1990’s. The company you chose to keep often tells a lot about a person.
Oh contraire, Charlie Rose epitomizes the modern species of “journalist”. A sanctimonious gasbag with zero integrity. A bloated ego enclosing an empty soul.

Ha! - I went to see Walter Cronkite speak in Austin at the LBJ Library in ‘73 or ‘74. That was when ‘streaking’ was all the rage. You guessed it. Walter got streaked and the whole place cracked up but good. I’ll never forget that day. ;o)

When you were scared to speak before a crowd, they used to say to picture your audience naked. Nowadays trying NOT to picture your newsreaders naked is not at all relaxing.
Meanwhile in similar news, we are all waiting for the Nobel Institute to recall those prizes given out to the former president for the Peace prize. Again that esteemed institution mistakenly gave an award for no work or supporting evidence of anything and the record shows that he did more illegal bombing & killing innocent civilians than his previous presidents.
Replace the Cronkite moniker with the
“Phantom Zampolit School of Yellow Journolism”. The man did enormous damage to our culture.
