Arizona State University is revoking an award bestowed on journalist Charlie Rose, who was fired this week by CBS News and PBS in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations from multiple women. […]
Rose was given the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2015.
Dean Christopher Callahan said in a statement that the actions reported about Rose were too “egregious” to ignore.
He says Rose’s actions victimized young women who were not unlike the students attending Cronkite. …

I’ll bet you Walter Cronkite had his closets full of secrets too. He turned out to be a progressive-socialist in some respects. Cronkite palled around with the Clintons back in the 1990’s. The company you chose to keep often tells a lot about a person.

Ha! - I went to see Walter Cronkite speak in Austin at the LBJ Library in ‘73 or ‘74. That was when ‘streaking’ was all the rage. You guessed it. Walter got streaked and the whole place cracked up but good. I’ll never forget that day. ;o)

When you were scared to speak before a crowd, they used to say to picture your audience naked. Nowadays trying NOT to picture your newsreaders naked is not at all relaxing.
Well, there was a time we depended on network news to find out what was going on in the world, before we figured out that CBS meant See BS and that Uncle Wally was an unctuous ‘rat gas-bag and their rising talent like Dan Rather was, well, you know, what’s the French expression ...
a damned liar and fraud.
Meanwhile in similar news, we are all waiting for the Nobel Institute to recall those prizes given out to the former president for the Peace prize. Again that esteemed institution mistakenly gave an award for no work or supporting evidence of anything and the record shows that he did more illegal bombing & killing innocent civilians than his previous presidents.
