Barrington woman was charged Wednesday after, police said, she used a flamethrower to set her luxury SUV on fire and later filed a false police report about the incident.
Police said Gagne used an X15 Flamethrower to torch her 2016 Infiniti QX70, which was registered in her name only, at 10:28 p.m. Nov. 10 at 1529 S. Grove Ave. in Barrington.

I remember a story from many years ago where the police were watching a guy drive repeatedly into a tree in the park. It was later found out that the guy was trying to get a insurance claim as he was behind his payments.
