President Donald Trump took to Twitter to criticize Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch Monday morning.
After photographs surfaced showing Lynch standing during the Mexican national anthem and sitting during the US national anthem at a game against the New England Patriots in Mexico City on Sunday, Trump called for his suspension.
"Marshawn Lynch of the NFL's Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down," he tweeted.
The President and the NFL have butted heads over athletes' decisions to kneel during the national anthem at games, with Trump calling on the league to fire players who protest during the anthem earlier this year.

I don’t think I’d recognize the Mexican anthem if I heard it. Now I would remember Herb Alpert (and the Tijuana Brass) tune “Lonely Bull”. That would make a decent anthem.

Keeping players in the locker room solves nothing. Some teams stayed in the locker room in week 2 and wound up offending EVERYBODY as both sides assumes they were taking the opposite stance. These protests had dwindles down to nothing and would have been completely gone by now.
Jerry Jones is a petulant child who’s only angry because his star player got suspended. Remember he actually PARTICIPATED in the protests, complete with “meaningful looks” directly at the camera. Jones is an idiot, anybody he thinks should be fired should stay. Remember, he fired Landry, his history of doing the wrong thing.

Not in cahoots, but in reaction. Week 1 10 players across the entire league knelt. 10 out of almost 1700. Then Trump called them a bunch of SOBs and basically then entire league knelt. Last week 3 players in the entire league, this week about the same. And here comes Trump making another stink.
I know a ginned up fake issue when I see it. And this has been a non-issue for over a year, except when somebody wants it to be an issue for no good reason.
