Two years ago, my wife has started an avocado tree from a pit. I told her not to expect too much from it, fruit-wise, but she persisted, and now that sucker is a full three feet tall and growing. We keep it indoors during the winter months. She just started six more using the water/toothpick method a few weeks ago, and has three with roots so far. She’s hell-bent on starting an avocado grove adjacent to our other fruit grove (peaches/apples). Me? I never saw the attraction. It’s just a bland, pedestrian fruit to me, tasteless, but avocado lovers like her are fanatics.
My ultimate dream is to win the lotto and buy me a right nice avocado ranch.
*sigh* That reminds me of the Biggest Aspidistra in the World
