You’re just jealous you didn’t keep your comic book collection. I’m still working on forgiving mother for giving away mine.
I never read comic books as a kid.Perhaps that makes me culturally deprived. But one thing's for sure....spending a million on a mint condition 1935 Mercedes sounds pretty silly to me.Spending a million on a 1935 comic book, even an original, sounds silly to the tenth power.
Just sayin'...
I have a fairly extensive comic book collection from the early 70’s through the mid-eighties. I’m guessing I have approximately 20,000 total. I need to catalog and sell them.

I was the mother that tossed the comic book collection.
It was in a dusty carton under my son’s bed when he went off to college.
GONE !!!
.
A lot of mine went missing while I was in the service for a few years.
At times she took up brat sitting and comic books, football / baseball cards, and toys walked off.
I should have padlocked my closet.
If I still had my comic books from the 60’s when I was a kid........................Spiderman, Silver Surfer, Fantastic 4, Superman, Batman......................
Mine got tossed into the trash!........................
Worse than not keeping a collection. When I stopped through to visit my aunt in 1970, she had a stack of 30s -40s comics that my cousin who was 15 years older than me had. One of the comics in good shape was the Superman #1 and I remember the cover specifically. Also #1 Batman. She offered them to me but I was on leave with only a fully packed duffel bag and no room to bring them along so I turned them down. She ended up giving them to her grandchildren who tore them up. Wish I had given that a little more thought before I turned them down. Oh well...
At least your mom gave yours away, mine just tossed them in the trash ... were comics from the 30s which I bought ($0.01-0.05 each) at the annual rummage sales in the late 40s and early 50s.
Friend of mine collected all the baseball cards of 1950`s and 1960`s...All in mint condition...In 1980`s, he was a single, young man in los Angeles having a great time and his mom calls and asks what he wants to do with the cards....Toss them,so she did.
Year 1990 and he has wife, house and 2 young kids....I ask him what the cards would be worth..He says I don’t even like thinking about them..He figures he could have sold them and sent his kids to the best colleges....
I re-read a lot of mine until they fell apart. Plus silly putty taking its toll.
Still, I gave my son five long boxes of sleeved comics when he left home.

Mine gave mine away too. And my pineapple hand grenade.
