The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day........
Class is in session!
No running in the hallways!...................
Huckleberry Finn is the strongest statement against slavery and racism in the English language. Thanks to the dimwitted virtue signalling of the lumpenleft, it is well on its way to becoming samizdat.
The Fake Book
Back in the day in the Jazz School,
The music students all knew
That copying works of sheet music
Could land you in Federal Stew.
But the sheets were so darn expensive
And sometimes were full of surprises
Wrong keys, Superfluous flourishes,
And the sheets came in all different sizes!
So late at night in the basement
They labored and wrote out by hand
Just the melody, lyrics, and changes.
(A Musician will understand)
Then cranking away on the Mimeo
Enshrined in Purplish Ink
Came the creation known as the “Fake Book”
(You could get a nice buzz off the stink!)
The Fake Book got thicker and thicker,
As new Standards were written and made
The Publishing Houses and ASCAP
Saw that there was a fortune to be made!
So out came the “commercial” Fake Books,
All licensed, like the Law wants.
They were thick, inclusive and pricey,
And printed in “handwritten” Fonts.
The only thing they were lacking,
Was the Clandestine Mystique
And the sickening smell of the Mimeo
That makes my Old Fake Book Unique.
Otherwise, they have uses
And musicians have discovered that
Although DIS may be produced by “The Bizness”
It’s mostly the SAMIZDAT.
Is dis da samizdat? Cuz dey sure look da same.
