The sheriff's statement has stirred up controversy among members of the public.

"I'm glad to see out government officials are concentrating on what's important," Facebook user Antonio Herrera commented on the post.

 

If Antonio was trying to be sarcastic, he did a piss poor job of it. The citizens have demanded action, and the government is correctly responding. What's wrong with that?

The citizens that have demanded action should be given a copy of the Constitution of the United States and be instructed to pay particular to the Bill of Rights. They should start with the first one and work forward from there.

So if enough BLM folks get on their local law enforcement because they don’t like a “racist” bumper sticker it would be OK because “the citizens have demanded action”?
