k thanks- I’ll stick with firefox 54 for now- if i can find out how to turn off updates- in hte update panel it just says soemthign about search engine updates- not the browser update

Go to Options - General

Scroll down to Firefox Updates.

Version 56 froze my Options settings including not letting me get to my logins and passwords. I got around that by starting Firefox in Safe Mode to retrieve them. Definitely time to downgrade FF 52 ESR
