In my last job the site was dominated by women. With men in the room, these women would open say stuff that any man would have been written up over. Everyone (all the women present) had no problem with it. They thought it was great, laughing heartily. The double standards are problematic, but they also go to point out that men weren't acting any more inappropriately than these women were. All it took was one woman to complain, to turn the whole workplace into a hostile environment. I'm not supporting over the line comments, but now you can't even compliment someone on a great "outfit" without being seen as a cereal cretin.
A police officer just called into the Limbaugh show. His comment was that there are no sworn testimonies in this Moore situation. Not one! You are right. There is no case.
I wouldn't turn a U. S. Senate seat over to a Democrat. There's no chance of that. Of course it could be out of our hands, if something solid did surface on Moore. It would be a tragedy to loose the seat though.
As for younger people who married in the past, I doubt seriously they had a higher rate of divorce than we have today. Mismatched ages can work out decently.
And older man may appreciate a younger person, treat her with more respect, and have the maturity to give her a more balance happy life. It could work both ways, but who's to say these marriages can't be wholesome?
I'm not in favor of 14 year old teenagers marrying an over 30 year old man. I just don't like the idea of that 14 year old being exploited.
I will say that if the man has good intentions, and the young teenager is serious and treated right, there is a real chance I could be proven wrong. I still don't support it.
Part of my reasoning here is my own maturity at the 18 to 21 year old level. I didn't mature until my mid 20s. Other guys seem to be challenged much later than this in relationships. (not treating women right)
Every American generation seems to mature drastically later than the one before them. Children were historically needed, well regarded and cared for in the agricultural era, for survival of the family and the “farm”.
One of the Adams family of sons served as a secretary to Benjamin Franklin while in France at the age of eleven. Responsibility and classical education is dead in America today.
It’s now fallen to having children as “bling” and on demand. Birth control immediately turned into sexual license and having babies is as one more commodity, ruled by the market place of pharmaceuticals and cultural trends.
As for women in the market place, government, schools and churches, and now the military, one could look around and see the effects are increasingly problematic, even tragic. Is there a correlation?
I am stunned to hear of your own observations in the work place. These women defy nature, are loaded up on testosterone and behave like Amazons. Men are in a hell of a fix and I suppose will look forward to no relief, unless they too are organized and storm through the courts.
Everything is at the mercy of the courts, in the absence of God, common sense and civility.
