So, I’m guessing you don’t have a problem with the anti-American, kneeling thing, right? Even on Veteran’s Day weekend? So, why are you here?
This.
I think we will see a gap in season ticket dropoff rates between the teams with long wait lists and the teams with no wait lists. Teams that are already begging fans to buy tickets will get hit hardest as their season ticket offering doesn’t have the whiff of exclusivity fans crave.
I find these “empty stadium” pictures dubious. If you go to a game, right at after kickoff or halftime you can see empty seats because people are still milling around on the concourse. There is never a description of the time the pix were taken. I’d like to see pix taken in the middle of the 2nd quarter to really see if they are empty or not.
DeplorableAmerican1776 and I were watching the NASCAR race...great race...2 Toyotas and 2 Fords will race for the championship and Matt Kenseth won the race...
“The flag and the anthem stand for the foundation of this country and all the amendments up until now.”
Thank you for saying that. Usually people say respecting the flag and anthem is about respecting our fallen soldiers and vets. That’s only part of it.
Agree with your premise...but it is an entertainment industry and uses fans to garner money. It will spout any political view to keep the dollars rolling in. I would not be surprised if they are now targeting the x gens..slackers ..and millenials...and letting the boomers say bye bye...who..knows..maybe coaches are in fantasy leagues cause they know the game plans and who will run and catch balls..net results...fans get fat on chips and beer..players get severely banged up..and owners/investors keep rollin in the dough..cannot totally blame um...fans who are passionate about a kids game drive this bus...all in all..football not that important to life...time to let go...
No. It’s bad. It’s still half full. Should be empty.
The games lose their excitement for fans when the stands are sparsely filled. The fun is the crowd. It will be difficult to sell season tickets next year.
It’s kinda funny...my sister has been on the waiting list for Seahawks season tickets. This week, she got an email from them, saying that she was number 22,756 in line for season tickets, and that it may be several seasons before her number comes up.
She doesn’t even live in Seattle. She’s in Richland, which is over 150 miles away from Seattle. Would she and her husband drive all that way, each week? Yes...sadly, they would. They’re rabid ‘Hawks fans, screaming liberals, and have cash to spare.
Thanks Glasseye
just, huff!!

This combat vet says you are correct
When this began I will confess my expectation was: the fans will forget, they’ll adjust, they’ll ignore the protest and accept it as business as usual now. I’m so very glad to have been wrong about that. This was week 10 of 16 in the regular season. If they aren’t panicking in the owners’ offices they aren’t paying attention. It took them fifty years to build this thing up into the economic juggernaut that it has become. It took them less than two to wreck it. It will survive, I think, but it will never be the same.
The NFL is dead to me. I don’t care, and neither do a bunch of other people now.
They had a good run. A part of me finds it a shame. But egos, greed, and pride conspired to behead the goose that laid golden eggs.
Is that $600 per game or for the entire season and how many games does that cover for the season if it is?
They may get the ticket sales in advance but if people don’t show up to buy beer, dogs, and sodas; there’s a huge loss there plus next year they may not get those sales in advance.
Wouldn’t it be great if all the players had to renegotiate their pay and they could only get $200k max unless they were a Quarterback, end, or running back? Someone who actually moves the ball downfield. Then again; would the line protect a Qback that wasn’t getting paid what they think they should?
You Guessed Wrong, Pal.
Good post, but I disagree with your point about taking just two weeks to wreck the NFL. I’m convinced that this national anthem debacle simply gave a lot of fans a good reason to walk away from an NFL that had already grown tiresome for them. A lot of these fans may have been staying “interested” out of habit, but I believe many, many of them had come to see a 3+ hour football game to be a huge waste of time.
They are supporting them financially regardless of whether they agree with them.
