I disagree. If I was the pastor there, and a disgruntled church member came, I would have been as nice and as engaged as possible.
It would have been my job, as well as other church members, to try and bring the lost sheep back into the flock.
They seem like those kind of Christians from what I can glean from the news.
Also think after the church he was going to find his ex-wife and kid/s and murder them.
No sale here.
Please remember, I am not talking about him. He was dirt and he is dirt.
I am talking about the church members, what they would have been thinking.
But all the churches I go to always have a few people who pack, and this would not have happened in those churches.
