How do you get more kinder or gentler than that? Exactly. I have often wondered why Reagan picked Bush as his VP. Was there some kind of agreement they had? I dont get it.
By the way, since I am in southern Mindanao, and just got out of bed, its Monday morning here. I heard there was a massacre in Texas. I am wondering if anyone has a thread for it?

There may have been an agreement from Reagan, thinking it would bring party unity.
I would have preferred he pick someone with views like his own.
It’s easy for us to use hindsight now and see he could have won without Bush (at least I think that’s obvious).
At the time, it may not have been.

The GOP head honchos also wanted the addition of GHW Bush to shore up moderate support in the Northeast and Midwest.
