Sociopaths and Leftists share a common behavior trait - projection - accusing someone else of doing exactly what you are doing yourself. The crucial difference between sociopaths and Leftists is that Leftist projection is conscious and sociopathic projection is unconscious. The sociopath has a personality disorder that manifests itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behavior and a lack of conscience. Let’s compare and contrast the nature of psychological projection with political projection.
Sigmund Freud described psychological projection as the defensive mechanism of denying in oneself the existence of unpleasant behavior while attributing that exact behavior to others. (“Case Histories II, PFL 9, p.32) Accusing someone else of lying when in fact you are the liar is a prime example of projection. Projection is a characteristic blame-shifting defense mechanism for sociopaths - it keeps them from acknowledging and taking responsibility for their own behavior. The work of the sociopath’s therapist is to help the sociopath get in touch with the objective reality of his behavior so that he can change it.......
In a political context psychological projection is a deceitful conscious strategy to put your political opponent on the defensive. There are fair fights and there are dirty fights in politics. Fair fights are honest debates about the merits of opposing policies and ideas - dirty fights are deliberate, personal, and deceitful tricks designed to discredit your opponent and put him on the defensive. Political projection is a very dirty fight.......
Hillary Clinton and the DNC honed political projection to an art form during the 2016 pre and post election. Not sure how “once” got to the end of my sentence, but perhaps I’m affected by Pelosi’s projection, too.

As Rush said, with librats everything is just an opportunity for some scummy political trick.
Once it finally sank in that DJT had won, Hillary and her inner circle knew that an excrement-storm of evidence of criminality was inevitably going to come out, and that much of it was going to be aimed right at them.
They knew they couldn’t possibly cover up all of it, and they couldn’t possibly destroy all of it.
They knew that once President Trump took control of the levers of power, it was all going to come out. Only a matter of time.
So they decided to strike first, and accuse Trump of everything they were doing. They did this in the full awareness that (a) the MSM would fall right in line, pick up the narrative, and start screaming their accusations at the top of their lungs, and...
(b) They knew that Trump would be unprepared for an avalanche of phony accusations, and would therefore be slow to react, especially since he would be very busy putting together his transition team.
Their goal was/is to blunt the impact of the truth of what Obama and Hillary had done while they were in control of the United States Government and of our foreign policy, to muddy the waters, to implant in people’s minds the idea that “whatever Hillary did, Trump also did,” and to give their supporters in the MSM ammunition to throw back at the accusations and evidence they knew they would be encountering.
So far, this strategy seems to have worked. Although it seems to me that Trump got wise pretty quickly, and started fighting back on several levels. Of course he’s not nearly finished with that at this point.

Just want to point out that sociopaths don’t want help and won’t change. They feel their lack of remorse or conscience makes them the “master race” and would decline a cure if one were available. The insurance companies will not provide mental health coverage for treatment of sociopathy because there is no cure. Sociopaths “get better” at being sociopaths by studying the behavior of “normal” human beings and therapy helps them do that. They study our behavior to learn better how to mimic normal emotions/reactions and how to manipulate us. I think this is true of the left as well.
According to the book titled, “The Sociopath Next Door”, the number one character identifier for a sociopath is that they love PITY.

Oh? I think both are conscious and calculated. Perhaps a full blown sociopath has done it so long that they have it on full autopilot, where a garden variety leftist may still have occasionally to do it deliberately.
Everything, since they are one and the same.
