I truly dislike that people have made this about veterans. It’s about the United States of America and ALL it stood for and given it’s citizens.
True, but at least it's a handhold on the issue. Discursive prose doesn't grab attention like a catchy slogan does. And it serves to define the sides in a way that transmits well through mass media.
The leftists have been doing this for ages ("My body, my choice!"), and their own weapons are now being turned back on them.
Including music, now!
“I truly dislike that people have made this about veterans. Its about the United States of America and ALL it stood for and given its citizens.”
THANK YOU! I have said the same thing. The soldiers are just a portion of it. Respect for the flag and anthem have to do with the overall essence, history, and totality of what America is. If people don’t “get” that, they need to find another homeland.
“... I truly dislike that people have made this about veterans...”
I definitely see your point. However, when I think about the flag/and anthem... I always think of coffins coming “home” with flags draped over them. I think the knee thing started over BLM/anti police sentiment. However, it was the NFL that related anti police and the flag/anthem. Thus, people now changing the point that it is anti-vet is simply following how they see the flag. Yes... it really is about the US and ALL it stood for and given it’s citizens but at the price of lives and blood (ie. veterans).
Love of our flag, respect for vets and National Anthen is part of the whole... it’s the part these NFL jerks are disrespecting... Pass the song around and boycott NFL football...
