I truly dislike that people have made this about veterans. It’s about the United States of America and ALL it stood for and given it’s citizens.

True, but at least it's a handhold on the issue. Discursive prose doesn't grab attention like a catchy slogan does. And it serves to define the sides in a way that transmits well through mass media.

The leftists have been doing this for ages ("My body, my choice!"), and their own weapons are now being turned back on them.

Including music, now!

The appeal would be greater if the meme didn’t limit it to veterans. How about all the millions of people that have worked for what the U.S. stands for? Sorry, it doesn’t have the wings to fly if it’s just for veterans.
