I have DishNetwork.
My main bitch is the recording ends a minute too soon. I have to set everything to record 2 minutes longer which interferes with other programs that are scheduled to start (start takes priority over ending)
Stupid DishNetwork.
Sorry to hijack your thread, back to you.
They need to unbundle and go al la carte.
Do you know if that’s available on ROKU?
what is QLED?
what provider?
Location?
okay, I'm not tech...neither is my husband...my Asperger adult dtr knows more than either of us...
If you are under contract they will beat your brains out with it and demand the high prices. If not they will negotiate. Since AT&T bought them out they have went to hell in a hand basket.
Before the current Genie set up I had two old Hughes SD 40 DVR’s with Tivo. That was a setup! I had one hacked and two 500G hard drives with right at 1000 hrs of record time and another one hacked with 400+ hrs of recording time. Alas they finally gave out and after using spares and parts for years that came to an end and the Genie and higher prices showed up...
I tried a tiny Raspberry Pi model 3 computer but the result was not optimum.
So I swapped that out for an old 100 dollar HP workstation computer...it works great and sits beneath the set where the old Dish box did...I set the HD to shut down after 10 minutes but I’m going to convert the computer to a diskless workstation and boot from a thumb drive.
I added a 14 dollar tiny wireless keyboard with touch pad for remote control...it’s rechargeable.
Everything works fine.
Open All opens all folders so that the programs are listed as individuals...................
**********************************************
Nope. It just opens all folders so that all the programs of that name are listed together. I want to see the programs listed as they were recorded.
If I still lived in SoCal I would drive over to their dev center like I did in the past to get the dish. If I recall correctly. :<))
Tonight Law & Order comes on and then Chi PD and I will record both. Now, tomorrow, when I press LIST I will see not the individual programs, but two folders labeled L&W and CPD because there are other recordings of L&W and CPD. Clicking on the folder does nothing in showing the exact sequence programs are recorded in. Well,,,, programs of the same name maybe but not the overall sequence of my recordings. :<(((((((
To show the oldest I have to open each folder and examine the last program and $#%&*()&^$#%^@#$%^@%^...........
Its stupid.
Then we had a storm..knocked the dish around...called DTV...and got someone in Hanoi...who told me they would come out and realign the dish..for $90.
I told them to stick it...
Been the best thing...I've done in awhile..
Right now Fox has a very strong nighttime lineup with
Tucker Carlson
Sean Hannity
Laura Ingraham
You can find Tucker and Sean on youtube live with the usual commercials. You can also find the previous nights shows on youtube.
So who needs cable TV where you are also paying the NFL too even if you don’t watch.
QLED vs. OLED: Samsung’s TV tech and LG’s TV tech ... - CNET
https://www.cnet.com/news/qled-vs-oled-samsungs-tv-tech-and-lgs-tv...
May 24, 2017 · Samsung’s QLED TVs aim squarely at LG’s OLED models for the picture quality crown. But in spite of the similar-sounding names, they’re as different as ...
“what is QLED?”
It is an LED backlit with improved LED’s to give a better color reproduction and larger color space.
Before I purchased I had my wife meet me at about 40 feet away from the TV wall at Best Buy. I asked her which one I was planning to buy. She immediately pointed to the Samsung QLED.
Most TV’s these days have wifi and apps for YouTube, Netflix, etc. and access to the internet.
If not and you have a USB plug you can buy a computer on a stick or microcomputer and plug into it.
yeah, I thought LG OLED was the current top of the line- is QLED better?
I saw an LG OLED about 4 months ago and I almost dropped everything I was doing and bought it- it was that good (until I saw the price tag- I can wait a year or so to save $$$$)
Not sure but go to direct tv now and I’m sure they have a list of devices
Yeah wait 18 months. OLED has been around a while while QLED from Sammy is an advance/

QLED sounds more like LCD technology, or am I wrong?
I think real LED consumes significant;y less power, doesn’t it?
You are way behind the curve. All LCDs are LEDs these days. Even though they might be called LCDs. Are illuminated by an array of LEDs from behind. I know this because I just moved from an old (broken) LCD monitor to an LED monitor for computer. What were older LCD monitors like mine illuminated by? Ask.
Go ask me about IPS if you want.
