I have a Swedish Mauser which is stamped (in translation) Carl Gustav’s City Rifle Factory.
I wonder if that is the same factory.

Nothing says peace more than an 84mm recoiless round.

My Father was a early trainer for this weapon.
He was a member of the 29th Infantry Regiment, originally a training regiment.
When the Korean war started they put them all on a boat and shipped them from Okinawa to Korea and they were the very first reinforcements to land there.
Within the first couple of days, and before they could even sight in their rifles (they were still in cosmoline when issued) they suffered the Hadong Ambush.

My Father turned 18 on August 2nd that very same summer, just a little less than a week afterward. In Korea.
According to him, it was the M-1 Garand and the Gustaf Recoiless Rifle that won that conflict and kept them all from dying.

By January we will give them to our Afghan “allies.”
By February the Taliban will use them to fire on an American convoy.
