How is the truck attack a cowardly act? I have absolutely no defense for the murderer and think he should be summarily tried and executed. However, really, how was his attack cowardly? He ran over people knowing what the consequences were going to be and jumped out with useless "guns" knowing he would be shot. How is that cowardly? Takes a lot of guts (no pun intended at all), if you ask me.
When law enforcement should be saying we are going to kick asses and take names, all they can say is that this was a "cowardly act". Looks like the real cowards in all of this are the leaders of the NYPD for not rounding up every potential muslim radical in that city and putting intense pressure on them. Then, after finding out at which mosque they worship, going after those leaders. Now, THAT would be a courageous act, but, it would incur radical criticism and the NYPD are too cowardly to do what is right. So, they just call the terrorist a coward. What kind of attack would make him NOT a coward? Please do tell.
He will always be a coward if he pretends to be one thing while acting as another.
It’s a bullshit term latched on to years ago by the media. Meaningless word fluff that minimizes and misdirects. That said, I pretty much agree with your sentiment.
It’s one of the magic words/phrases they use after every attack.
Cowardly
Lone Wolf
Nothing to do with Islam
Tiny percentage
Radicalized
Senseless
Can’t let fear, etc.
I’m sure you can think of more.
I often cringe when I hear the term “cowardly attack” because often the person’s misguided murderous actions don’t seem cowardly to me.
Many people are like sheep. They will repeat phrases that seem to sound good without even knowing why they are even using the term.
Was Pearl Harbor a “cowardly act” - no - it was a dastardly attack! Same here! Dastards!
Disagree. Cowardly are the sheeple on the field.of battle.
Cowardly are our leaders for bringing the battle home.
Cowardly are those who.would not desecrate his body with bacon
Cowardly are those who believe there is not a problem...
Of course it is a cowardly attack. He ran down innocent, unsuspecting people.
Truck vs bicycle is not a very fair match.
Minimizing your enemy is a big mistake.
Even though we hate their motivation, we have to understand that they don’t.
We really have to change our tactics to get into the alleys and track them down. I believe we are doing that. But we really have to take the gloves off.
I am not sure the US has the stomach for that.
Are you Bill Maher?
RE: Why doesnt law enforcement get to the bottom of who is encouraging these attacks...
There we have it. A person who can’t live without the government doing it for him. A statist. Man up. We the people will stop this. No help from you.
Are you Bill Maher?
Are you Bill Maher?
bingo.
It's all part of the script.
It's labeled a cowardly attack by a deranged person (And don't you dare call him muslim).
There will be media demands that there be no backlash.
Tea candles and teddy bears will be placed at the spot of the attack along with statements of how 'we won't be threatened'.
And you wait for the next attack having done absolutely nothing.
Incident? Really?
Like all Muslim terrorist attacks... it is an act of EVIL!
Mowing down innocent pedestrian and pedal cyclist civilians via truck is absolutely a cowardly act. Add to the fact they were mowed down from behind. No chance to defend themselves.
“And you wait for the next attack having done absolutely nothing.”
This sentence would be my only quibble with your good comment. Every time our leaders react in this way they reinforce the message that this basic method of attack will continue to work very well, and with very low casualties for them compared to us.
Get this:
Asymmetrical warfare operates outside the conventions of war, operating that way is the most important component of the weaponry!
The aim is to inflict maximum casualties at minimum cost in soldiers, money and materiel.
That’s it.
No. I really don’t know who he is. I don’t watch television. I’ve heard the name, but don’t know much about him. I have clearly stated my premise that the cowardice is that law enforcement is not kicking down doors looking for leaders/followers of this fanaticism. That has been brushed aside. I really don’t care because I don’t make my living via journalism. So, you can be outraged all you want and it won’t affect my job. Go for it.
