RICHLAND COUNTY, SC What started out as an online purchase, turned into a robbery and a shooting that left one man dead Monday.
The incident occurred near 8 p.m. at 1103 Pinelane Road, located in between Trenholm Road and Alpine Road, according to preliminary details provided by Richland County Sheriffs Department public information officer Lt. Curtis Wilson.
The man, described as the victim in the incident by Wilson, was looking to sell something from an online social media app. He was contacted by the man described as the suspect by Wilson, adding the suspect asked to meet at the Pinelane location to make the transaction.
When the victim presented the item for sale, the suspect produced a gun, according to Wilson.
But a happy ending!!!
++++
At that point, the victim drew his own gun and shot the suspect, Wilson said.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Wilson.
Hey Game
Think itll make Live PD?
Hows it going?
Hoss
Folks should be more careful when selling on-line.
Valuables should be transacted in public places, not at home.
Jewelry should use a jewelry store to verify the quality and observe the transaction.
Whenever I sell something locally via an online service - I ask that we meet in the parking lot at the local PD. Less trouble that way.

They’ll still blow your brains out.
Many are druggies and desperate. Its a tough call. Some real psychos on Craig’s List. I learned that when I made the mistake of listing an apartment for rent.
That is something I throw in as well, turns off a lot of people.
up.
Interesting, “suspect” and “victim” were correctly assigned in the news story.
My thought exactly! That has become Must-See-TV for us...but only by TiVo.
We love that show. Much better than cops. I like to see situations where people are given a second chance when they deserve it. Seldom see that on Cops.
Richland County is one of my favorite “Live PD” locations. Columbia is good, too, since that’s where the crack-whore motels are and the Obama gas station/C-store are. Then on the opposite end of the bottom of the gene pool, there’s Pasco County down in Florida where you typically see the best-of-the-best white people. When they’re in boring places like Arizona or Indiana and do the Richland County tease before a break, I call to my wife on the computer that there coming to Richland County and she comes in to see what delights await.
Absolutely. DVR is critical.
I grew up in Richland county. What used to be pockets of scaryness, are just massive no go areas now.
Ain’t that the truth!
