In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Melania Trump is the most genial First Lady that we’ve had in some time. In many ways she reminds me of Princess Diana in the way she connects with people. There doesn’t seem to be a hidden agenda with her, unless it is love for her husband and son. Otherwise, she seems focused on whomever she is talking to at the time.
Just got in from work-
Hillary keeps on placing blame
On everything but her attitude-
She is so oblivious to the fact
That she is obnoxious and rude
If she’d been polite and genial
Instead of playing her old game
More might buy her book instead
Of not wanting to hear her name
Hillary is like Leona Helmsley
She is just every bit as mean-
And thinks all the little people
Should bow to her as the queen
