I'm not surprised. Since the election I've heard a few people - including comedian Bill Burr - comment that there are billions of daily interactions that transcend race, religion, and other lines. Nobody (or few) checks each other's voter registration card, ask to see their papers, or ask for their views on the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk.....we treat each other with common decency as our Lord commanded us and get on with our day.
Sure, we may have a concealed weapon while we go about our business, and we may not help some shady character who is up to no good...we aren't idiots. But, in general Life Under Trump has not become void of humanity. Indeed, the enemy would have PREFERRED that you walk by that situation.
Stories like yours warm my heart. The are a sober reminder that we are individuals first...not a collective, and that in the end good will triumph over evil (though it may take a while). That said, while I would like to think an Antifa rep would do the same for a well-dressed man in a wheelchair, sadly I doubt it. Nonetheless, our side carries on as we've been called to do.
Again, God bless you.
Yes...I see that American instant goodness every day in the supermarkets, at auto accidents, at our hospitals, our nursing homes, our schoolyards, at churches and all places of worship, homeless centers, drug addiction clinics and centers, by Firemen, Police, First Responders, average Americans, of all stripes, etc., and on and on!!!
I brought my kids and grand kids up to believe that all charity and goodness comes from a few main sources, family, good neighbors & first responders, nurses, doctors, etc.,..period. Governments...They are a total waste....they all only really care about getting your vote period, so that they can control your life 100%. SAD!!! End of story!!!
Secular politics is the antithesis of kindness, gentility, decency, and compassion. It has little place in Christian society.
Politics is a scam.
