The other day the wife and I were shopping in a "Walmart store in South Florida for some Christmas goodies. We finished, paid for our stuff and were on our way out to the car. I stopped my wife and, told her to sit, relax, I had to go to the "little boys" room.
I walked into the bathroom did my thing, and was washing my hands, when I noticed this young Black guy trying to manipulate his wheel chair into the bathroom to relieve himself. He was having a hard time, struggling with the wheel chair.
Before I could go over to him to assist, this young White dude shows up, grabs the steering handles on the wheel chair, and promptly wheels the struggling dude over to the toilets. He lines the kid up with the toilet, asked him if he needs any more help, the kid says I'm OK now.
But, the kid is having a rough time getting up and out of the wheel chair...so, I run over and two other guys do the same thing. We help the kid stand up and, tell him we are going to back off and give you your privacy, but, we'll be right behind you when you finish and place you safely back in your wheelchair. The kid says thank you, with a gigantic smile on his face. The White guy that first helped move the wheel chair. plants him back in the seat of the wheel chair, turns to him and says, "Hey dude, are you cool & OK now, can we help with anything else". The kid says, "no, I'm`perfectly fine now". The white guy heads out the bathroom exit, turns and utters "Dude, God be with you, always & may God bless and keep you, forever.
We all look at each other, and then go our own ways. Yes, Virginia, my child, love, understanding, caring & compassion is alive and well in these "Free United States of America". Stay Great America, Always!!!
Yes...I see that American instant goodness every day in the supermarkets, at auto accidents, at our hospitals, our nursing homes, our schoolyards, at churches and all places of worship, homeless centers, drug addiction clinics and centers, by Firemen, Police, First Responders, average Americans, of all stripes, etc., and on and on!!!
I brought my kids and grand kids up to believe that all charity and goodness comes from a few main sources, family, good neighbors & first responders, nurses, doctors, etc.,..period. Governments...They are a total waste....they all only really care about getting your vote period, so that they can control your life 100%. SAD!!! End of story!!!

Herman Cain says don’t believe what the fake media shows you. Instead, look at your own community, your church, etc., and you’ll see the true picture...that there is no divide.
Secular politics is the antithesis of kindness, gentility, decency, and compassion. It has little place in Christian society.

Those are the moments that give us all great faith in each other. Like after tragedies when strangers go out of their way to help each other even under some serious risk. Thanks for sharing.
You are so right on!!! The American people of today are so intermingled racially, through ethnics, culture, demographically...that racism barely exists, other then in the minds of the would be hateful, America destroyers and haters. We are indeed one massive melting pot of God’s world.
That is why the current Democrat And Republican establishment political parties are dying on the vine. They both have nary a clue, and would prefer to mingle with the likes of the MS-13 thugs and gangsters, and the raving maniac Black racists. Sad commentary on american politicians....MAGA!!!

OVERALL, all of the USA is the friendliest land I’ve ever been to, but there are places all over the world where you will be cared for like a family member even as a foreigner, and it includes rural tribal areas too. But definitely we are friendlier and more open than where I lived in Europe.
Even in LA and NY I have been met with going out of their way kindnesses.
But in my hood now, there are many from the Middle East / Iran areas, and I must say that until you know them, people from that part of the world (all three big religions I must say) are unfriendly and even put on a suspicious or hostile face as you pass on the street or wherever. Once you are in their circle (kids going to same school, say), these same people are very friendly, and when you are invited to their home, they are outright generous (and the women will have cooked wonderful foods for DAYS rather than just order dominoes pizza for the party). But it brings DOWN the American friendliness quotient to have lots of unassimilated foreigners near.
My friendliness quotient is too high for L.A. When I spent lots of time over the last 5 years in Charleston SC, I felt I was not friendly ENOUGH. Only place in the world where I’d ask myself after a grocery checker encounter if I had been rude, if I had been focused and friendly ENOUGH. When I went to Nashville, I finally felt I had found my FQ everywhere. There, I had the sense that everyone had my friendliness quotient.

We know these things about ourselves and each other. We know we are a kind and gentle people. We know even those who harbor bitterness give and receive kindness daily. We pray for an end to the hatred preached by those who want to control us. A day of reckoning is coming. God will not be mocked.
I don’t think MAGA can be accomplished through voting or politics. I campaigned and voted last year, yeah, and I’m glad about the results, but that was more out of a sense that the alternative was unconscionable. I doubt we’ll face such a stark choice again in my lifetime.
Politics is downstream of culture and the stockyards. If we want meaningful improvement, its going to come from what changes we can make upstream. And it’ll stink a whole lot less.

I watched this Black Kid struggling to stand to take a pee and, I was crying inside. I just had to offer my help. I would have done that little help for anyone. We are all brothers and sisters in God’s world.

Over the years FR has really been on the bleeding edge of political and cultural thought. If you wanted to talk about the uniparty 8 years ago, you came here because this was about the only place you could and there were quite a few of us talking about it.
The thinking has shifted again. I’m not so sure FR is quite on the bleeding edge, but we’re ahead of the curve again in discussing politics as a scam.
Interesting side note. It’s an election year here in Virginia. And I’ve seen an unusual amount of advertising for people to simply vote. Not for any specific candidate; just show up. I’ll be interested to see what the turnout is.
Without commenting, might I suggest that you take sometime to read the some 270 plus words of POTUS, Abraham Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address”. It might just be the finest speech ever written and delivered in all of human history. The words of.....”Of the people, By the people, For the people” are the words of the ages. to be remembered by all Americans who love and adore freedom.
The problem in our nation is, that since the glorious, days of POTUS, Ronald Reagan, POTUS’s, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and most certainly America Hater, Barack Hussein Obama, have driven the American Republic Nation into the control of ill fated, criminal, tyrant, despot government leaders. That must change for the American Republic to survive into the future and remain a free nation.
These four POTUS’s were neither friend, ally and supporter’s of the “Lincoln” American Way. MAGA!!!
Virginia, this year is a turning point election for the American public and nation itself. A Democrat victory in Virginia brings forth socialism, communism, MS-13 gangs acceptance, illegal immigrant acceptance, failing, stagnant, non growing economics, failed opportunities for citizens, lack of decent education, personal lack of safety for Children and family, and tighter government control over personal lives.
A Republican victory brings the continued hope of the American spirit and strength of the individual to succeed, no matter who she or he may be. Vote for Ed Gillespie on election day in the state of Virginia or die on the vine with communist, Obama/Clinton,Democrat. Ralph Northam.

Want to know the honest to God truth.....Black Lives Matters (BLM)is only a tiny percentage of American Blacks. Millions of American Blacks of all shades, creeds, sizes, religions, colors, are so intermarried, intermixed, intermingled, assimilated into American culture and society that the overwhelming number of African-Americans could care less about ex-POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama, The Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP and, the entire Democrat Party that has so screwed (The Obama/Clinton/Democrat, Economic Slavery Plantation) over them these last eight years of “Hate America” Obama and company.
I’ve read it several times in the past, but read it once again. Over time my view of Lincoln has become more charitable. I still disagree somewhat with his perspective in that he follows the ends but not the means.
A government of by and for the people did not come about due to politics in my view (nor will it persist because of politics), but because the unique culture and religious beliefs of Americans demanded something like it. If we were to overlay our laws and Constitution on Saudi Arabia, it would fail miserably. The culture and religion doesn’t support it. Whereas ours has.
