It’s my opinion that the greatest movie that will ever be made has already been made. Scorsese recently said “Cinema is dead.” He may be right.
If Hollywood never produced another movie again, I wouldn’t shed a tear. Plenty of movies already been made to keep people entertained for years.
IO think the movie theatre is dead. But streaming services will continue to offer new movies and documentaries. The oscars have killed themseleves and they gathered a billion fans ion front of TVs at one time. Now they re just political vomitting. The theatre are two expensive and then noisy. At home I can watch what I want when I want and for the price of one movie have the service for a month. My screens are 52 inches and that’s plenty in my small condo.
I went to movies almost eery week from 1951 until 2016. My mother took us on Monday night at discount price. 25 cents to get in and 15 cents for a box of popcorn and a dime for a coke. Didn’t need dinner that night. The manager came on the stage and had raffles. He spoke against “pay TV.” Now the chickens have hit the fan in the roost and the theatre are for high end dating. Look at the places in CA with $20 tickets and food delivered to the seats. Have been to one movie in the theatre the last year. I write down titles that interest me and when they re available watch at home. My adult kids stream everything and rarely go to the movies.
