Has anyone noticed something a bit odd about the actresses accusing Harvey Weinstein?
The trash talk TV floodgates have burst wide open with women who now accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment. But has anyone noticed something very odd about this group. With a few rare (and aging… or aged… or very aged) A-listers, the accusers are all women who never succeeded in Hollywierd.
We are hearing nothing from the major movie actresses, and I think the reason is obvious. These women, now household names, did what aspiring actresses (and actors) have done for 90 years. When they were fighting for roles early in their careers, and all the others up for the roles were willing to go down for anyone in the casting system, they did the Horizontal Mambo too.
And of course, once they were into the system, they couldn’t suddenly become reconstituted virgins and stop “laying down on the job.”
The reason they are not complaining now? They are still active and don’t want to be thought of as simply very high paid, very beautiful, and somewhat talented women (and men) who sold their bodies for dollars and fame.
Or if they are War Criminal Jane Fonda, who claims she just learned about Weinstein a year ago, they also don’t want the world to know these “Women’s Rights Champions” were willing to stay silent, not tell the world what they did to get their movie roles, and sacrificed the next generations of their sisterhood for their own fame and fortune,
They’re all hookers. Only the price is different.
Well, there’s my first question, Where were the parents?
Any parent should know what a den of filth Hollywood has been for years, and should never have allowed their kids to come anywhere near it.
You don’t know a thing about actors, actresses or the performing arts. Why don’t you quit while you’re behind?
Of course it is! If I told you I was a detective, or a spaceman, or a millionaire, I would be lying, wouldn't I? With great lines and research and rehearsal, you might believe I really was one of these, but I would still be lying.

I understand about separating an actor/actress’s performance from the actor as a person.
I used to be able to do that but I can’t anymore. Hollywood and Broadway have become so leftard fascist and hateful to someone like me, I can’t stand it anymore. I will not spend twenty five cents if it might line the pockets of Ashley Judd, Meryl Streep, George Clooney, etc. (my list of celebrities that I boycott is quite long).
You have no idea what they felt, and should admit it. Being assaulted by a powerful person can be very intimidating. Many probably left the industry completely and simply went into hiding. Your post took none of this into account. It came off as a defense of monsters like Weinstein first and foremost, which of course you've previously admitted you do professionally.

In most threads I've seen you in, you're usually in the minority, if not completely alone, defending pedophiles and the like, so I'm quite comfortable calling you out again. Having represented 17 of then in their quiet sexual abuse pre-litigation, I would say I do understand them.

I say this as a musician of 40 years who knows that entertainers are overwhelmingly worthless, egotistical people.
The fact that these women refuse to condemn the Clintons for their abuses means that IMO they are completely undeserving of sympathy.
If the term “hooker” upsets you, what term would you prefer for women (and men) who CONTINUED TO make a conscious choice to exchange sexual favors for the money and fame that comes with being a movie actress/actor?
The first time they did it, they were victims, perhaps the 2d and 3d time too. But at what point do these men and women willing continue as participants in a system that can only entrap the next group of young people?
You may not like the reality of the topic, but that does not erase the reality that others here understand.

For over a year, they campaigned for the wife of a rapist, lied about Donald Trump, defended islam which is the ULTIMATE rape-culture, lied and attacked white-men, Conservatives, Christianity etc...
Show me the victim that drops the hypocrisy and maybe they will get a little sympathy on this board.
Even more oddness: Mira, Angelina, Gwyneth, Ashley...are all women who were raised in ‘the business’, having one -or both- parents in the entertainment industry. It stretches credulity to believe that they had not been warned or prepared for situations re subtle and aggressive harassment in the Industry. Sorry, but hard cold cynic that I am, I think most likely they used whatever they could to give them an advantage over their competition. They played the game when the game favored them. Also, each of these women stripped themselves of clothing and dignity (for the sake of their art, no doubt) in multiple movies. No one should be physically assaulted or aggressively harassed, ever, but It’s not difficult to understand why men may imagine them to be willing or available.
This is an interesting thread, and shows there are differing angles to all of this.
Weinstein was a sexual predator. He pressured actresses into sexual activity against their will, for the promise of getting ahead in their careers in Hollywood.
On the other hand, some women may well have willingly gone along with Weinstein, for the hopes of how it would advance their careers.
I will get flamed for this, but here goes — how many women in Hollywood sought out Weinstein, and voluntarily consented to sexual activities, in order to get ahead? If some did, that does not excuse the predatory behavior of Weinstein. And I do not suggest that it does. So flame away if you like I’m not excusing the Weinsteins of the world.
But how many young women go to Hollywood, facing intense competition for a handful of starring roles, and ask themselves, and others, who do you have to know in this town to get ahead? What do you have to do, to get a leg up on the competition? Who are the power brokers? Hollywood, meaning the entertainment business, is a place where connections with the powerful can make or break a budding career.
Flame Away. I’m just asking, did any women voluntarily seek out Weinstein and other powerful men, because these were the people you needed connections with to get ahead. Just asking a question, not defending the behaviors.
