What these people are missing is; if the signs were meant for the deer they’d have turned them ninety degrees so they could be read from the sides of the road. Duh.

That question doesn’t necessarily imply the asker thinks the deer can read.
People may think there is some type of control on where the deer are allowed to cross and signs reflect that.
