More bad news could be on the horizon for ESPN. Staffers at the Worldwide Leader in Sports are bracing for another possible round of layoffs late this year, multiple sources tell Sporting News.
The next round of cutbacks could come down in late November or early December, with 40-60 positions potentially being impacted, according to sources. The layoffs could hit both on-air TV/radio talent and behind-the-scenes production staffers.

They should merge with the NYTimes.
I wonder what could be causing this problem. As far as I can tell, ESPN does not have a clue.
“Worldwide Leader in Sports”
and the leader in bad recipes, i.e., the sports/politics fusion. Just give me a hot dog and a beer!
Communism was appealing to European elites because they regarded it as insurance against social mobility. If one can ignore its dictatorial blood-soaked history, that is why it still has appeal to the elites.
What is mystifying is how and why so many of the poor have been suckered by Marxism’s obviously fatuous selling points. They gladly, eagerly cede their freedoms and individual sovereignty for a vague promise of being paid off someday, somehow under the rubric of social/economic justice (read: forcible taking). They don’t seem to notice or care that these rewards usually never come or if they do they are as meager as the settlements in class action lawsuits in which corporations pay out billions and so called class members get a few dollars if they get anything at all. The elites (lawyers in this instance) clean up and declare victory and the gullible applaud and demand more pantomime.
The point of all this is that ESPN’s production and operations staff are now mostly young recent college grads who are gung ho for communist delusions. They are no different to workers in a communist regime eg Apple component manufacturers: they are housed, bused, clothed, and fed by the company who pay them a pittance.
They cheerlead this bifurcation of society even as they live and work on the poor side of the line of demarcation. Except for the high tech whiz bang graphics it’s run like the DIY basement studio in ‘Wayne’s World.’ The writers and broadcasters (they usually have to do double duty) in the Charlotte college football production facility regularly discuss the shoestring budget and salaries therein.
Short version: ESPN is being devoured slowly and painfully by its own rabid SJW animal but has chosen to lock itself in the cage with it rather than commit leftist heresy.
I would think Jemele Hill would be one of the ones let go in a mass layoff. That way you’re not risking a lawsuit. You can say she was canned like everyone else due to a lack of suitable work.
ESPN is unwatchable.
ESPN can be renamed SJWN.
We stopped watching espn the day they were slobbering all over Michael Sam, first homosexual to enter the NFL Draft in 2014, and he was slobbering all over his boyfriend. He was out of the NFL by 2015, another Leftist social experiment gone bad.
Bwahahahahahaha
CNN is headquartered in Atlanta, but they do have smaller staffs all over (most especially NY and Washington obviously)
Where is ESPN based at? How many do they have on staff total?
Let me add...Hahahaaaaaa!
Sports talk in general is unwatchable. The only sports I regularly watch are the games of my favorite teams.
But they will deny it has anything to do with their politics.
But they all use it now!
Max Kellerman truly hates America, has stated it has done horrible things in the past!
"I know it's a tough job but it was somebody's job to see the future and they didn't," a source said. "Now viewers are going one way, costs are going the other, and nobody did the math."
CNN and msnbc already covers ESPN turf....
But, but, but ...
“Math is hard!” And math and science are a “white man's construct” ... that have no place in today's society of gender studies and relative truth. Facts and arithmetic are evil, racist models.
