Lucretius?
When comes that sundering of our body and soul
Through which we're fashioned to a single state,
Verily naught to us, us then no more,
Can come to pass, naught move our senses then-
No, not if earth confounded were with sea,
And sea with heaven. But if indeed do feel
The nature of mind and energy of soul,
After their severance from this body of ours,
Yet nothing 'tis to us who in the bonds
And wedlock of the soul and body live,
Through which we're fashioned to a single state.
*shudders*
That still gives me nightmares.
You’re joking. Little Richard made Liberace look butch.
That joke predates Carlin I believe...One teenage girl to another: “Why does your grandmother read the Bible so much?” “She is cramming for finals”.
Yep - many claim to be at total peace and IAW all God’s laws, past and present”. The rest of us continue on in being “poor of spirit” because we acknowledge who and what we are and feel unworthy of Him who sacrificed Himself so we could be worthy in His eyes - the only eyes that matter.
Still a joyous occasion in Heaven when they arrive....
Nope. Sonny Burgess died recently
Must have been very recently.
August 18
Nothing wrong with trying to give up a fag lifestyle
Sure hope not. Hope He finds me worthy.
And he was saying how like most people - but perhaps even more so for Americans - where we want things to be fair, and just and get paid on one’s merit (or - on how hard they work), that this parable is a difficult one for us.
Of course those that come in at the end of the day didn't have as long to work for, and be in a relationship with a generous boss - so there's that!
You misunderstood me. What you said was inspirational. You are on the right track my friend, as all the people who connected with Christ in Sacred Scripture reveals.
