When you directly contradict some one, moments after they have spoken publicly, you are telling the world that their statements are "Not Correct".
You're right... it's not using the word "lying". That would have been worse, and not atypical for Trump. But, he didn't use that word. I'll give him credit for that.
Still though, it's a matter of semantics. It's a nuance that will be completely ignored by every newspaper, or news outlet in the country.
Fighting against a grieving widow? You lose, on visuals alone. Better to move on. IMHO.
