From what I've read on Frank Zappa, while he was anti-establishment, he had some conservative leanings, at least with respect to smaller government and less taxes. He was a big believer in capitalism and thought that socialism was stupid.

I seriously doubt that. He hated Republicans more than Democrats, although I never really could figure out why.

Ironically, when he was on Crossfire, he argued more with the Liberal, Tom Braden, and he got along much better with the Conservative, Robert Novak.
