In MA the sheriffs department is virtually meaningless———sheriff’s answer to the state.
There is no county government——counties are rarely mentioned.

There is no elected county/borough or Parrish chief LEO? I know I avid MA for some reason... Now I know why, that and funny language ( seriously, my wife of 35 tears hails from NH and ME, so I get it....) egh?
