Once again, The New York Times has maliciously smeared Bill O'Reilly, this time even failing to print a sworn affidavit from his former lawyer, Lis Wiehl, repudiating all allegations against Bill O'Reilly. The Times ignored that evidence, sworn under oath, and chose to rely on unsubstantiated allegations, anonymous sources and incomplete leaked or stolen documents.
Here are the facts: after the Chairman of Fox News Roger Ailes was fired in July 2016, dozens of women accused scores of male employees of Fox News of harassment - including the current co-president of Fox News Jack Abernathy.
21st Century Fox settled almost all these cases, paying out close to $100 million dollars. Six months after Mr. Ailes left the company, Fox News Corporation signed Bill O'Reilly to a record breaking new contract after the company had analyzed and considered all allegations against him.
In its first article about Mr. O'Reilly on April 1st, The New York Times printed inaccurate settlement figures while fully understanding that O'Reilly and his counsel are legally bound by confidentiality and cannot set the record straight.
In its latest diatribe against Bill O'Reilly, the Times printed leaked information provided by anonymous sources that is out of context, false, defamatory, and obviously designed to embarrass Bill O'Reilly and to keep him from competing in the marketplace.
Finally, in the more than 20 years Bill O'Reilly worked at Fox News, not one complaint was filed against him with the Human Resources Department or Legal Department by a coworker, even on the anonymous hotline. The New York Times has copies of two letters written by 21st Century Fox lawyers attesting to that fact.
The Times failed to print them, too.

Times reporter Michael Schmidt pushed back against this claim on Twitter, saying the report mentioned the affidavit twice.
We have no way to know if these claimed numbers are accurate. It is odd that FNC fired O’Reilly right after giving him a new 4 year contract. They have really suffered in prime time without him.
Mark Fabiani is a HUGE DEMOCRAT CLINTON BUTT KISSER!!!
No doubt we're in an era of assassination by accusation but using words like 'out of context' makes me suspicious.
Court orders can be revised, O'Reily is old enough to shift some assets out of reach and name all names and settlements. Then litigate it all over again.
Maybe Bill is just a nice guy and wanted Lis to have the money.
I am surprised by this affadavit. No legal names, no addresses, and no correct legal name for Fox News Corporation.
Considering that Ms. Wiehl was a “former Federal prosecutor” the legal form for this affadavit is quite informal and amatuerish to my eye.
Seems like Wiehl had a settlement with Fox News Corp. seperately from anything with O’Reilly—see point #4.
Though it certainly didn't help to lose their most watched star, I believe their biggest problem is their decided shift to the left. Ever since Ailes left, they have dropped his "fair and balanced" mantra and have become decidedly "left and unbalanced" in most segments.
For many years the only TV I would regularly watch was "Special Report". I particularly liked the Panel segments. Since Ailes left it has become totally unwatchable. It has become "breathlessly cover the daily anonymous attack on Trump, and then breathlessly trash him in the panels." They no longer cover any news, it's only TTT. Trash Trump Today.
We no longer watch the evening news, we watch the previous day's recording of Tucker. It's certainly more relevant then the Baier Bash Hour. They may recover, a bit, with Hannity, Tucker, and now Ingram, but until they start reporting the real news again, they will founder in the swamp with MSNBC.
$32 million for sexual harassment is unbelievable. These settlements used to be in the 10’s of thousands at most. He could have wrongfully killed someone and only had to pay a few million. His reputation was trash anyway why pay tens of millions to protect it?
Sharyl Attkinsson’s book ‘The Smear’ will tell you about people like Fabiani...well worth the money and time if you really want to understand what ‘fake news’ is all about.
Didnt I read elsewhere that he made another payout in millions? The guy is walking scum.
Didnt I read elsewhere that he made another payout in millions? The guy is walking scum.
You have never heard the term “deep pockets”?
Of “Liability Lottery”?
It only takes an accusation to ruin someone. These settlements are supposed to keep the accusation quiet.
Here, one side is breeching the agreement and putting out the accusations, after agreeing not to, and being paid millions not to.
That person is scum, and the NYTs is scum for publishing it.
I can only imagine BOR’s reaction when Lis Wiel added her name to the complaint. et tu Wiel?
Her side: he trolled me when I was first hired. I did not complained, at least officially
His side: looks to me like I did nothing wrong, or made Lis Wiel feel uncomfortable.
Then when opportunity struck, Lis Wiel threw away her future in media and retired comfortably at BOR’s and Murdoch’s expense.
Blew me away. I liked them both. I confess I have trolled, but we would not be here if our ancestors didn’t.
As for NYT fairness, what did we expect? They leave out the lack of official intra company complaints and include BOR’s divorce custody complaints.
p
Gretchen got $20M for the Ailes harassment.
This 32M settlement is more than his renewed contract, annual salary was going to be!
