“Latinx” LOL!
English does not have gender assignments to ordinary nouns, except in a few cases...Lion-Lioness, etc.
The Latin (or Romance) Languages (including French, Italian, Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese, and others) assign a GENDER to every noun, even inanimate objects. So “La Salla” (room in Spanish) La Plume (pen in French) la Cuchina (”Kitchen” in Italian) are all FEMININE nouns and have to have all the modifiers and adjective agree with feminine endings.
El Toro (The Bull in Spanish), Le Crayon (the pencil in French) and Il Duce(the Leader, in Italian) are MASCULINE nouns, even if the item in question does not actually have a gender.
Persons who speak these languages are VERY protective of their heritage and would be quite insulted if this foolish little American girl alters their words. A Latino has Machismo, and would be heinously insulted if you took that “O” off and saddled him with an “X”. Likewise, a Latina, who prides herself in her femininity, would probably scratch this little b%tch’s eyeballs out for taking away her “A”!
What a CULTURALLY INSENSITIVE and LINGUISTICALLY Moronic thing to say! hahahahaha
I’m still chuckling over the latinx thing, especially with the added perspective conveyed by your informed post haha.
