"the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the [20th] century" -Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the collapse of the Soviet Union...

"World democratic opinion has yet to realize the alarming implications of President Vladimir Putin's State of the Union speech on April 25, 2005, in which he said that the collapse of the Soviet Union represented the 'greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century.'..."

"The more I see and read about Mr. Putin, in power since 1999, and his 'managed democracy,' the more apprehensive I become about the future of Russia and the safety of its neighbors.

If Putin believes that the dissolution of the Soviet Union into 15 independent states represents the 'greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century,' then it follows that Putin might well believe he should do something to repair the loss..."

I’m glad today’s American Bolsheviks are too inept to follow their role models. All they can do is riot in the streets, burn cars, and attack lone individuals who are outnumbered 10 to 1 or more.

In 1999, I was drinking some pivos with crackers sausage and cheese with Luda while I was in Kherson Ukraine. Luda was and is a Communist attorney with 2500 people underneath her in her heyday. With a little buzz I mentioned Stalin’s purge of the Ukranians, saying Stalin was responsible for killing millions of Ukranians. Big mistake!! she started screaming NO!, No!, No! at me with her eyes bugging out, veins popping out and spittle coming from her mouth. If she atill had power, and maybe she still did, I would be in one of those red boxcars with a hammer and sickle on the sides and 6 by 8 “ barred windows at the top of the sides of the cars.
