Upload them to imgur.com, then link to here.

I use Dropbox, which you can install on an iPhone, allowing you to upload your image easily to your Dropbox Public Folder.

Then, you can copy the Dropbox “link” to the image, and when you paste it into your post after the = sign in the special HTML, you simply remove the last four characters in the link string and replace them with (not using the quotes) “raw=1”.

upload them to a photo sharing website first

There may be a way to do it from icloud, but if there is I’ve never tried it.

1. tinypic.com 2. Upload photo 3. copy assigned URL to memory (now your photo has an address, sorta like a house. It first has to live somewhere) 4. paste that URL between my quotes, deleting the underscores I put in there. 5. click "post"

Just don’t. It’s too hard. Shouldn’t have to know html just to post a pic.
Just my opinion.

Moving your local pic to a hosting site is simple, and prevents FR from having to use its own bandwidth to make the picture available. The img src tag is extremely simple as well. Learning a tag doesn’t mean you ‘know html’. Bet you’ve never posted a clickable link, either. geesh

What is “html”? How do I get to know it? Yes I am old, yet serious about the question. How would I use it with an I phone or Samsung?

Clickable links are easy. Copy and paste. Every other site out there has made it easy as pie to post pics. Not this one. Like it or not it’s true.

You need to ask someone else. I’ve never used it and have no desire to learn it.

What's the downside of such a public folder? Is it easily hackable, so an enemy could post, say, child porn or real hate stuff on it and get you jailed?

Look up "HTML bootcamp" on FR.

You have to find a host for your images. Comcast/Xfinity used to provide hosting space for customers but they ended that feature a few years ago. No drop in the monthly fee however. For whatever reasons, many, most sites even, block from people ‘hot linking’ to their accounts to post images, as if it hurts or something. It doesn’t.
