You might not need a telescope to spot Uranus tonight. The ice giant planet will reach opposition on Thursday, bringing it to the closest point in its orbit to Earth. In this position, the blue-green planet will be visible in the sky all night long and, while youll definitely be able to see it with binoculars, NASA says Uranus may even be bright enough to see with the naked eye.

Uranus? We changed that name so we could stop with the silly jokes.
Now it’s called Urectum.

Uranus orbits at about 20 time the distance Earth does from the sun. That means that the difference between closest approach (conjunction) and most distant approach (oposition) is about 10%. Big wup.

FYI, there is a fudge company in Uranus, Missouri named the Uranus Fudge Factory. The fudge is good and they have some non-PC humor about it like “Proudly Packing Fudge in Uranus since 2015”, or “The best fudge comes from Uranus. Cracks me up.

Or maybe San Francisco It took 20 posts to get to San Francisco on a thread about Uranus. It seems a bit slow to me. Even the ice jokes got in faster.
