Sounds like he was a sacrificial lamb.
Was their Pitching staff that shallow?
Don’t really follow Baseball. I just want the Dodgers in the World Series because I was around during the good old days of Steve Garvey (1B), Davey Lopes (2B), Bill Russell (SS), Ron Cey (3B), and Steve Yeager (C).
My claim to fame was when I attended the first Game that Fernando Venezuela lost at home. I still blame myself. LOL
Make that Fernando Valenzuela...
Needless to say the Cubbies are having bullpen issues.
Which in modern times can spell doom, with starters going fewer innings the pens are critical.
Good list for the Dodgers. Valenzuela was one of the stranger looking pitchers-—resembled a fireplug. But baseball was second nature to him. I think he had been playing since he was three.
But I also get a chuckle thinking about Steve Sax and his frequent choking, inability to throw to first base.
