Google confirmed to The Local that the internet giant has acquired 109 hectares of land in Avesta municipality in the Dalarna region as part of its data center strategy.
It had long been rumored that Google was in the process of purchasing land in the area, and on Friday representatives said they had closed a deal for 109 hectares some 160 kilometers northwest of Stockholm.
The Local understands that certain plans for basic infrastructure on the site (such as roads and electricity) are already in the pipeline, but there are not yet any confirmed plans to use the land to build a data center. [

The news comes less than a year after Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced it will establish three new data centers in Västerås, Eskilstuna and Katrineholm in 2018.

Sorry for the literal reply, but it’s a hundredth of a square kilometer, or about 2.47 acres. Good old metric system.

Maybe Google wants all that space to work on one of their ‘Black Projects’; too secret for the San Francisco area, where people expect guided tours and free bags of bling.
Facebook has a secret workshop called Building 8, where they have been working on projects connected with augmented reality. Located in Menlo Park, or South San Francisco area.

Sweden is the most 'progressive' country in Europe. They're so progressive when ISIS terrorist come back from Syria they can go right back to school and work. No questions asked.
Nope.. not joking that is what they're doing.
