Looking for streaming solution. Currently paying for DirecTV, 3 TVs and all premium packages except sports.
I am thinking of going Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. MY wife lives on HGTV and Lifetime. She can do without the rest.
My read into download HGTV to computer or TVI have to register my provider (cable, satellite) which means I have to stay with direct or cox.
I want to stream and provide my wife with her favorites from those two stations.
Have smartvs and chrome cast hooked to one of them.
Get Direct TV Now. It’s streaming service from Direct TV. No contracts and no equipment. You can quit anytime. The only thing I would add is to upgrade your Internet speed. See how many streams you can get at the same time? Chech out HULU Live too.
You can get HGTV and Lifetime for $35 a month.
and
HULU Live
PlayStationVue has streaming channels for about thirty dollars. Fox, FoxBusiness, HGTV, ID Discovery plus many other popular channels. Have never had any problem with them. I use Netflix and Amazon for movies

We signed up for playsration view.
I know it has HGTV.
One last thing.
Direct TV now and HULU live both have an APP with all the channels.
However, I noticed it’s better to get the Channels Apps you like, and login through the App. Almost all Apps have a Live feed.
Sling TV. Base package has both.
Follow your conscience, but consider Kodi.
I like Hulu’s channel section and number of steams. However, the interface is difficult.
Don’t use the HULU interface.
Just get the App of the channel you like, and login through that way. All the Apps have the shows, AND the Live TV. You just have to Login through your provider.
That way you can watch it Live. That’s what I do, and I have Apps of all the channels I watch. It’s great.

I concur that if one only wants a few Channels then select a service that has them and use individual apps of channels you like. As long as they steam current and/or live shows then apps will work.
thanx
Just do a search on Youtube for HGTV or Lifetime. There’s a ton of stuff from each of those networks..no cost.
The best.
