“greatest generation”
Which came home and sat on their collective butts to raise the generation of hippies. They defeated Hitler an Tojo, but they refused to raise their children. Now their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are out of control.
I guess you knew different GG people than I did. I was raised by two, as were all my friends, and our parents dedicated their lives to working to give us a chance at a life that they, because of depression and war, never had. I don’t know where this crap about GG parents being lazy and uninvolved comes from. My mom and aunt were room mothers, and Cub Scout leaders. My dad, uncle and friends fathers were coaches, Scout leaders, and ran summer camps. Our parents taught us life was hard and you had to work for what you wanted and that nobody owed you anything. We went to church on Sundays and were raised with a solid moral compass of right and wrong. My generation didn’t do as well sadly because feminism taught young boomer college girls it was all about the career and they bought it. Leaving their kids to be educated by the Left while mom and dad both worked.
As a baby class of 1940 I watched it happen in slow motion. My view at the time (while I was in the military) was and wll always be that the 60’s were the turning point. The massive civil disobedience, anti war demonstrations, riots. racial disturbances, hippie movement etc largely went unchallenged. Too many got away with too much and went unpunished. Greatest generation let them get away with it.Goldwater’s loss a national tragedy on the order of Obama’s election.
