Is that common to have a Captain and XO of the same rank?

I just posted this on another thread, hope you don't think I am spamming yours...

A scalpel in the hand of a competent neurosurgeon can save a life and preserve speech and walking to someone who may lose it.

A scalpel in the hand of a butcher will give you a finely cut steak, but it is a dead piece of meat.

A 30 million dollar state of the art sensor system on a billion dollar ship in the hands of a well trained, well drilled, highly motivated and well led crew can spot incoming ballistic or cruise missiles, target them, and shoot them down.

A 30 million dollar state of the art sensor system on a billion dollar ship in the hands of a poorly trained, poorly motivated person being led by people more interested in gundecking qualification reports on that sensor system, and more interested in getting the sexual harassment polices in order and signed off on, is going to be hit by a big, lumbering ship, not to mention rocks, shoals, cruise missiles or thrown grenades.

Hi.

“Cmdr. Alfredo J. Sanchez, and executive officer, Cmdr. Jessie L. Sanchez, “

Huh? Okay, a possibility. Just like James Kirk commands the Enterprise uh er, Zumwalt.

I see that Alfredo got his Masters (M.A.) degree in National Security Studies in 2010. In 2012 he became a "politico-military planner" which seems to be some sort of State Department run "thing". He jumped from that to being a commander of a destroyer in September 2016.

I say lets interrogate him and learn about this state department department called the "Bureau of Political-Military Affairs".

My drill instructor from Kansas, Sgt. Sanchez is probably very disappointed. One of the few men I knew 47 years ago that could run faster than I could (which wasn’t very fast) but he could do it backwards while yelling at me.

The important point is: "it is evident the collision was preventable."

The investigators have determined the ship's crew, and not some outside force, is responsible. This from the United States Naval Institute.

That they are releasing this information ahead of time is telling, in my opinion.

Sailors died! That's beyond "loss of confidence" or training. Aren't commanding officers responsible for training the junior officers? Isn't the command master chief supposed to watch over enlisted training? Of course they are responsible!

Like many here, I suspect unqualified minority & equally unqualified women.
