Nice post catnip - I was at a lecture where she talked @ the types of fats too - she favors the medium-chain saturated kind (coconut oil)...they (the oils), she claims ‘fill up’ the receptors that produce carb-craving, thereby reducing the craving.

When I was bodybuilding and when on a strict diet to cut weight, sweet potatoes were the main component of my balanced diet everyday.

I had my best weight loss by eating Wheaties every single morning and sometimes would have it for a second meal later in the day...I grow to crave it...

Protein is made up of amino acids and all amino acids except lysine and leucine can be converted to a sugar
Suffice it to say that nearly everything we eat ends up being converted to sugar.
Good news some conversions require more energy to convert.

It throws your body back into regular glucose processing for energy instead of the ketosis you need to be in to burn your fat.
