Funny! FReepers....sigh, always joshin...

Nice post catnip - I was at a lecture where she talked @ the types of fats too - she favors the medium-chain saturated kind (coconut oil)...they (the oils), she claims ‘fill up’ the receptors that produce carb-craving, thereby reducing the craving.

I really learned a lot from her:

The question is what did that do to his Blood Sugar level. Dumb Idea.

When I was bodybuilding and when on a strict diet to cut weight, sweet potatoes were the main component of my balanced diet everyday.

I guess if the food is unappetizing enough, you won’t overeat.

At least he wasn’t eating potatoes grown in a Martian Quonset hut, after being left for dead.

I had my best weight loss by eating Wheaties every single morning and sometimes would have it for a second meal later in the day...I grow to crave it...

*** “I thought protein doesn’t, but maybe I’m wrong” ***
It is complicated...
Protein is made up of amino acids and all amino acids except lysine and leucine can be converted to a sugar
Suffice it to say that nearly everything we eat ends up being converted to sugar.
Good news some conversions require more energy to convert.

'Phytoestrogens' are plant sterols (cholesterol like substances) that mimic the action of estrogen in humans. Soy is a famous (or infamous) source of phytoestrogens.

The Potato Hack is real. The guy who wrote it and who blogs at vegetablepharm is smart and genuine. Definitely worth a read if you are interested in actual Biochemical nutrition. Personally I react badly
To any low
Protein high carb so I can’t do only Potatoes but I know a lot of people who swear by it.

If you are eating low or no processed carbs to lose weight, eating too much meat or protein will convert to glucose too, negating the the effects of not eating processed carbs or sugars.

It throws your body back into regular glucose processing for energy instead of the ketosis you need to be in to burn your fat.

You’d think. The guy who started the potato hack, as well as his followers, tested their glucose throughout. It stayed nice and low
