"Our very existence, as well as our future, is largely dependent on that remarkable night of decision."
George Washington at Valley Forge
When I was a lad, I met the writer.
Bump for later.
One Step Beyond.......one of my favorite shows of yesteryear. I ordered the complete set along with Thriller a few years ago. What memories.........;)
One show which couldn’t be missed in my early years. In the past few years a local station had a OSB marathon on New Years Day. Glued to the set all day long. No thought of the nfl whatsoever.
Are you referring to John Newland? or Gerard?
BTW -only reason Gerard is included, as just looked for the author for this episode. Otherwise the only person it could possibly be is Newland. :-) JH died 17 years ago. the year 2000 at the age of 83.
Hub and I started watching those I ordered and were up most of the night and STILL didn’t see them all. Love the memories these old shows stir up...........;)
If we didn’t actually know what’s in their hearts, this might have been any nfl player of late. Washington was so much more pious and engrossed than they. MHO only. Washington had his own weakness; players have theirs.
My bad, I should have said “a writer” of OSB. I think it was Larry Marcus, but it was a very long time ago.
Just recently found an old show that was completely new to me. Believe it must have been a children’s show. LOL a prelude to SEA HUNT named DIVER DAN

No problem :)
Some of the older episodes of retro shows are impossible to track for writers, actors and such. In those days not as much credit was given as they do in today’s world. Everyone who participates receives a trophy. Down to the vendor that delivered the tuna sandwich.
I LOVED that show - too bad the stupid crapola today billed as "entertainment" couldn't hold a candle to the writing, acting or producing of that show!
Glad you reminded us of "history" in entertainment of a bygone era.
Loved that show
If you enjoyed OSB, you might enjoy this site. There are some episodes to be seen here

I’ve long thought that screenwriters were underappreciated. Films written poorly are rarely worth watching, regardless of budget, star power or special effects.
Thanks.
You may be right in some cases.
Sometimes, better left unsaid.
Just saw a classic Richard Boone Show episode and the script writers (imo) might have done better “Wall to Wall War”
OTOH, not much into war movies most times, but this was an old show from way back when.
