They do, don’t they. We’ve some crayfish holes on the land here, around the pond/lake/tank. We’ve actually gone down, caught more than one, and eaten them for a meal or two.

Funny, but you are actually correct. The starfish has no central nervous system, just a nerve ring that allows the nerves in the arms to communicate with each other, so they basically argue about what to do until one arm dominates the others and then they follow along.
