FULL TITLE: Miami Dolphins owner FORCES players to stand on the field during national anthem - as three refuse and remain in the tunnel
Miami Dolphins players were forced by the team owner to stand before Sunday's game when a military band played the national anthem.
Stephen Ross, who was an advocate for players protesting in the past during the national anthem, changed his views on the issue after comments President Donald Trump made saying players should be fired and referred to them collectively as 'son of a b***h.'
Before the team's game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Ross said: 'Trump has made [standing for anthem] about patriotism. It's so important if that's what the country is looking at to look at [the protest] differently.'
Ross asserted that the issue last year was raising awareness for equality and other subjects that did not involve patriotism.

“Ross asserted that the issue last year was raising awareness for equality and other subjects that did not involve patriotism.”
You can raise awareness by doing commercials, going to the inner cities, hosting events. The National Anthem has absolutely nothing to do with it and the fact that they used hating America to get their point across was downright low.
I don’t want anyone to be forced to stand. I want to know their racist and anti-American views so that I don’t patronize their franchises and make them any money.
ESPN jocksniffers must be clutching their pearls....
NFL, Does it even matter?
Good point. Thanks.
He signs the pay checks
If the players don’t like it then quit and go do something else
Given it’s own problems, the NFL should start running domestic violence public service announcements right before kick off. Let the women beating players “take a knee” during them.
The owner will discover it is TOO little TOO late.
ESPN jocksniffers must be clutching their pearls....
ESPN had 5 cameras focused on Kaepnerick when this all started. Now they don’t even report it happened. How pathetic is that?
You have a multi-million dollar enticement to follow the team’s rules. They don’t want to follow them, you can either fine them or fire them...
Since monetary slaps on the hand will mean nothing, just fire three. Give them five minutes to get their items off of the property and an officer to file a trespass warning.
He forced them to follow the rules? Oh, the humanity!
It really doesn’t matter what they say or do now. This was something you can’t fix by just saying “my bad” and now standing there pretending you are patriotic.
They screwed the pooch and it can’t be fixed IMO.
Your catch a cop taking a bribe, your wife riding the postman, the soldier selling secrets to the enemy, spitting on the customers food, etc.
Some things you only get to screw up once, that’s just how it is. They killed the goose that laid the golden egg.
I sure would think so.
Perhaps Mr. Ross thinks those are just signals that there is time to go to the restroom and visit the concession stand before the next event.
Strongly agree.
The Dolphins spent hundreds of millions to bring out new fans.
Thats not going to happen.
NHL is going to gain big time.
I was at the Panthers game last night, some black NFL spawn tard from the other team raised his fist, but nobody noticed.
VERY patriotic display at the BB&T by Panthers fans.
F... ALL of you NFL. Kiss my furry arse!
Forcing players to stand is fascism. I'm not in favor of that, but there is absolutely nothing that says I have to have them on my team.
Exactly! You cant put toothpaste back in the tube.
We already know. Nothing changes that.
That includes all the owners. They let this happen.
Die nfl die.
Thank you God that Laundry is not alive to see this.
Wonder what Staubach thinks.
Really? I didn't read where he fired them (10,31,89). Maybe I just missed it.
