His statement was for publicity purposes only, but this information should make a full page “open letter” ad to him and other billionaires/millionaires who want to pay more taxes. Easy peasy, folks.

I would suggest a tax on the billionaires Net Worth not their income.

That's *exactly* the point I was gonna make.It is legal and, presumably, has been legal for some time for people (US citizens at least) to "donate" money to the United States Treasury over and above what they're obliged to hand over by law.If I know that then Steyer's army of accounts certainly does.

I read an article some time ago about this and it said that a surprising number of people...usually foreign born Americans...leave money to the Treasury in their wills out of gratitude for the freedom and opportunities their adopted homeland gave them.Pretty cool in a way I'd say.

Probably.

That said, he doesn’t have anything useful to do with his money?

Write out a check Pay to the Order of: “US TREASURY” and send it in.

I guarantee it will be cashed.

Yeah, he can send the US Treasury however much he wants.

What he's really saying is , "I'm a billionaire, raise everybody elses taxes."

“...from individuals wishing to express their patriotism to the United States.”

There’s the catch.

Tom Steyer and the other billionaires who call for higher taxes are in no way patriotic Americans, nor wish to support the United States. Even the idea of being called “patriotic” is repulsive to them.

Absolutely, this guy’s an ass trying to raise other people’s taxes. He’s also an idiot for actually wanting to pay taxes when so much is paid to the government and so much is wasted.

I don’t understand why somebody is supposed to feel bad that their taxes will go down, regardless of how rich you are. The government doesn’t have “a right” to your cash just because you have a lot of it.

The government should not have the goal of “maximizing tax receipts”. It should be only concerned with doing the MINIMAL amount of governance with the lowest possible budget.

That said, Mr. Billionaire, if you had more money what would you do with it? Stuff it under your mattress??? I doubt it. Most likely it’ll be put towards something that continues to provide taxes to the government.

If these billionaires feel so guilty about not paying enough taxes, why do they hire an army of tax accountants and attorneys to find every loophole they can?

Make it out to the US Treasury. Write the amount you wish to donate. Put in an envelope, Address it to the IRS.

Don't sent it to the IRS - it will just refund the excess. The IRS isn't authorized to accept more than the taxpayer owes in taxes, penalties, and fines. Send the donation directly to the Department of the Treasury. The Treasury can accept it.

What don’t these liberal Billionaires understand about our tax system... The tax bill is a minimum the government wants,
>

SLIGHT correction: tax bill isn’t want govt WANTS, but *DEMANDS*, at the point of a gun\1st in line\without having lifted a finger nor ‘gambled’ in the endeavor.

Then there’s the TRUE cost of govt, for which taxes *should* be paying. But, we are so far from a Constitutional Republic, D.C. believes ‘tax cuts’ need “paying for” (IE: all property belongs to them).

>if anybody feels undertaxed, they can write a larger check for however much more they want to add.
>

Well, unfortunately, time and time again, that has proven the Socialists up. They never bring up w/ the amounts ‘extra’ sent in, especially from the most Leftists States. Talk about a black eye.

What we need is a wealth tax not an income tax. That’ll fix these commie billionaires.

Sorry, I don’t think govt should, nor needs, to know everything everyone owns; let alone having GOVT determine what ‘wealth’ constitutes. They do enough violating of the 4th under the auspices of the 16th (how that doesn’t null/negate the 16th, only a Leftist could fathom). IMO, a wealth tax would gut the 4th completely.

My $.02, we need EVERYONE w/ skin in the game. The ‘poor’, the unemployed, the retired...ALL use govt services, ALL should pay for said ‘privilege’. *NO* entity should pay $0%, and DAMN sure nobody should be getting ‘back’ which they never paid (tax ‘credits’).

I think he’s lying. Steyer is trying to claim this is just a tax break for the “rich.”

...

You’re right. Steyer is a deceitful asshole shilling for the Democrats.

“That should leave him with ten million which is more than enough.”

See how far that gets you when bidding on a few decent paintings.

(LOL...can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic, but really don’t care)
